That is one lucky man/woman to get out of there , before the 2nd wave. 45 seconds later after you ran down that sea wall or what ever it was, it disappeared under water and debris. I am happy you made it, and sad for the countless others who didn't. R.I.P. Such a horrible thing, to happen to your beautiful country and people. It saddens my heart even after all these years. M. 10 years ago.... this is the first time of seen this clip another valuable clip of this mind-blowing event. Just needs a little deshaking. Important clip of this moment in Japan thanks for sharing.
This video should be viewed at 0.5 speed for clarity due to it being sped up by the channel owner. The shaky footage may be as a result of multiple series of aftershocks and tremors causing the roof on which the videographer is standing to shake and vibrate. The fate of the running man and the two people on the rooftop is unknown, but given what they had already lived through I believe that they would have survived and gone on to self rescue.
anyone see the guy running along the levee,he was just a small figure but no idea where he came from or survived the first wave, but he did get across before the next one came in,wonder what happened to him.
I hope the two men on the roof that floated away to the right survived. And the man who ran along the wall, he was on a ladder I think to the left, then didn't see what happened.
Could someone explain why this video is so jumpy? I have seen jumpy videos, but that is usually due to aftershocks and possibly nerves. This seems like the person filming is balanced on a roof or tree or something. It is difficult to watch. I am not condemning the person, I was just curious as to why it was worse than others I have seen. Thank you.
Jenny Chapman I thought this could be a copy of the original, therefore the original could have an explanation or someone was there that has an explanation. There are a variety of reasons a person “could know” why. You don’t, that is fine. No problem. Maybe the next person does.
imagine you think its the end of the world, and youre recording it. you dont know if your loved ones are safe, you dont know when this nightmare is going to end, plus more aftershocks.
It was freezing cold and there were a lot of big aftershocks, plus the person was seeing terrible devastation to the town. Wish people like you would show a bit of empathy instead of moronic comments!
@@gailknight3128 Thank you, thank you, thank you. Critical thinking is not part of their DNA let alone empathy. They’re a bunch of idiots because if there’s a problem with the quality of the video, an intelligent person would understand the various factors. An intelligent person would also have the ability to choose one of two options. A) If the quality of the video is not up to their standards; they can stop watching it at any point before it ends. B) Anyone with common sense would understand the many reasons (just as you stated) as to why the quality isn’t the best but have the capacity to understand that despite everything that is being destroyed around them they had their phones to capture the horrific event. This just proves that these people are unbelievably selfish because their thought is how something is not up their standards. To make a tragic event where thousands of people died, and make it about them is just plain abhorrent to the rest of us. Thank you again, for calling these people out. Stay safe.

He was hauling ass.

Does anyone know where this was filmed?
Its Japan.

Thank you for the reply. Do you know what the name of the town is?
@@wallyboy6666 your welcome, unfortunately I don't know wich town this is.
@@wallyboy6666 this is from Yamada Town in Iwate Prefecture. The exact location of this recording is from a junior highschool
This video needs to be watched a 0.5 speed. Look at the guy running along the wall at a minute in. Way too fast. Cut the speed and it looks normal.
true
I don't know why it's sped up. It intensifies the shaking. Maybe it's a way to evade copy right issues...?

Have you considered the person filming was so terrified they couldn't stop their hands from shaking???

@bass & pickrel slayer it's not even the shaking but rather the speed. It's sped up. If you watch at 0.5 speed it's less shaky
@bass & pickrel slayer You can change the speed. Touch 3 dots and see menu, go to speed and pick one.
